The site
Enchanté is an airy apartment with wide windows in the bedrooms and living area overlooking the beautiful Turahalli Forest, located 20 kms from Bengaluru’s city centre.
The brief
The brief was to not compromise on the individual choices of any of the occupants belonging to different generations and create a home that is versatile yet harmonious. “We endeavoured towards a home that would be both personalised and cohesive,” declare architects Muktha Prabhu and Rashmi Soni of Salmon Pink & Co.
The spatial configuration
The spatial planning of the apartment revolves around an inviting open-plan living and dining area at its core, offering breathtaking views of the neighbouring forest. Large windows and glass doors seamlessly integrate the natural beauty outside with the contemporary elegance within. Adjacent to this central hub is a modern colour-blocked kitchen. Bedrooms flank either side of the living area, providing private retreats that balance tranquillity with modern comforts.
A convertible swing segregates as well as connects the living and dining areas, emphasising the core values of inclusion and respect for individuality. A warm and earthy balcony extends from the dining area, offering an idyllic setting to unwind and relish beautiful sunsets while sipping tea. This outdoor oasis becomes a sanctuary, seamlessly blending the indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a home that not only captivates with its design but also invites residents to immerse themselves in the serenity of their surroundings.

The visual expression
Transforming bedroom walls into captivating canvases, versatile wall panels emerge as a design statement that transcend the ordinary. The dynamic interplay of diverse hues and patterns not only adds visual interest but also imbues the room with a sense of energy and personality. The wooden beading detail running across the master bedroom adds the vintage charm the clients wanted. Dark and natural wood furniture, rattan headboard in master bedroom, modern nude pink wardrobe shutters with built-in floor-to-ceiling handles in the son’s room and statement terrazzo floor and backsplash in the kitchen are a few highlights. Not to forget the beautiful reversible cane swing being the showstopper in the living area.
The challenges
“Designing interiors for a family of five with diverse styles can be a rewarding but challenging task,” say the architects. “The key here was to create a cohesive and harmonious space that reflects each family member’s individuality while maintaining an overall sense of warmth, invitation and subtle sophistication.”

The highlights
Blending white, blush and gold, the dining area is undeniably the focus of attention. “We planned the dining space to be close to the massive window with a simple thought: every meal should come with a view and cool breeze of the beautiful Turahalli forest, utilising the site’s gift to the fullest,” discloses the duo. The statement dining table is paired with blush-coloured dining chairs that add a touch of softness and sophistication to the ensemble. A customised console sits comfortably in the backdrop.

The adjacent balcony is another spatial hero. “We loved curating this tranquil and inviting outdoor space for our nature-loving clients,” smile Muktha and Rashmi. Warm earthy tones paired with sleek black deck flooring, contemporary cane furniture and hand-made ceramic wall art makes the balcony a cosy space that celebrates style and comfort.
The architects’ favourite, however, is the son’s room, which brings together green and nude pink, creating a space that is vibrant and elegant. Complementing this bold colour choice, a wooden floor adds warmth and sophistication, ample natural light streaming in through large windows amplifies the room’s appeal, making it feel open, inviting, and connected to the Turahalli Forest. A study nook transforms this bedroom into a self-sufficient sanctuary.

The takeaway
Embarking on the journey of designing interiors for a family with diverse tastes and preferences taught the architects invaluable lessons in the power of open and transparent communication. The process demanded an inclusive approach, where every family member’s unique style and vision were considered. Engaging in candid discussions allowed us to uncover common threads amidst the individual choices, enabling the creation of a space that felt harmonious. “The project underscores the significance of communication in interior design, turning what could have been a challenging endeavour into a rewarding and cohesive expression of the family’s collective identity,” conclude the architects.
