This living environment is a studio cum residence for a contemporary artist. “The transformable studio environment empowers the artist to practise her art and music with a large library at the backdrop,” says Aboli Shah who focuses on curating spaces with an eclectic approach on highly personalised environments. This monochromatic studio space can be completely separated with the help of sliding partitions from the rest of the living room. The living room overlooks the open kitchen and large balcony space allowing ample natural light. The large storage running along the length of the passage has mirror shutters to allow the illusion of a larger space.

The studio space and suite rooms are distinguished by a double door. The residential section consists of two en-suites and a balcony. The guest room, designed in the shades of blues and greys, is a minimalist bedroom with a powder washroom in shades of white and grey. The artist’s own suite is spacious, and consists of a bedroom, bathroom, dresser and balcony. An open bathroom attached to the bedroom overlooks a beautiful balcony with plantations. The suite has earthy tones, natural materials, sustainable fabrics allowing the artist to be connected with nature.

The layout was adapted to the lifestyle of the artist with open spaces, bringing the outdoors indoors. This boutique home experience aligns with the artist’s philosophy of disconnecting from the outer world and bringing back the tradition of slow living.
