Arjun Rathi Design has unveiled a unique range of lights — The Sugar Collection — which merge art, design, and function. We’ll have some nostalgic memory of Indian desserts and our indigenous candy, and the collection aims to explore textures and colours of this foodscape. The Sugar Collection employs hand-blown glass (by Indian and Czech glassblowers), handmade ceramic forms and industrial metal in its creation. The collection comprises of a series of customisable hanging, standing, wall and ceiling flush-mount fittings.
The Orange Candy Edition is inspired from the Indian orange candy and comprises of hand-blown glass with an orange ombre; while the PP Edition honours the Indian Pan Pasand candy, and has a hand-blown glass with red and green ombre. The Candy Floss Edition is a tribute to the humble pink candy floss and features hand-blown glass with a pink ombre. For the Bullseye Edition, the Indian bullseye candy forms the focal point. Hand-blown by Czech glass blowers, this edition includes the Bullseye Table Lamp, Bullseye I, Bullseye Umbrella and Bullseye Spiral.

The Paan Edition explores the folding patterns of the beetle leaf in leather and other woven materials; and includes a series of floor and pendant lamps. The hand-cast detail of the clove in brass forms the signature of the Paan edition, tying the forms together. The motichoor ladoo inspired the texture and form of the wall and ceiling flush mount fittings. The handmade ceramic bowl (which can be glazed to a customisable finish), and blown glass globes combine to create the fitting. The Motichoor Series includes the Motichoor Flushmount and Motichoor Wall Sconce.
Lastly, the signature mould of chocolate slabs inspired the form of the Chocolate Edition to create a series of wall and ceiling flush mount fittings, which can be used in various combinations.
