The brief
When The Crossboundaries was invited to design the Vadodara office of Alsec Engineering and Construction LLP office, they were handed a 1,200-square-foot space, and a very specific brief. They wanted an open plan office with minimal glass partitions which would encourage a collaborative working environment.
The design intent
The Crossboundaries proposed an office which had the “industrial chic” feel, with materials that reflected this aesthetic theme. White textured walls set a clean and sophisticated backdrop, while the striking artwork adds a touch of inspiration. The open ceiling, adorned with tailor-made lights, render an airy and dynamic atmosphere, blending contemporary design with practicality. “We tried creating a working space where creativity flows freely, and every detail is curated for a harmonious and productive environment,” says Harsh Boghani, principal designer, The Crossboundaries.
The civil intervention
To execute the open plan, all the unwanted walls were brought down to allow maximum natural light into the space. The open ceiling embraces the open planning concept of the space.
The spatial configuration
The reception area leads one seamlessly into an open workspace with island workstations promoting collaboration. A well-stocked library offers a haven for quiet inspiration. At the forefront is a glass-covered conference room, basking in natural light, fostering dynamic meetings. Tucked away at the rear are the three director cabins, providing privacy with a panoramic view through the glass facade. “This space is a symphony of functionality and design, a testament to our commitment to a collaborative, forward-thinking work culture,” says Harsh.
The material palette
Exposed brickwork, metal-glass partitions, and rustic grey floor tiles sets the tone for a modern, industrial vibe. The naked ceiling, finished with Dani plaster, adds simplicity and depth. Veneer graces every piece of furniture, infusing warmth into the contemporary design.
