The site
The 3,000-sq-ft apartment is located on the 20th floor of Lanco Hills, a premium residential space in Hyderabad.
The brief
The clients specified that their new home had to be minimal and have a design language that aged well with time.
The design intent
“We curated a white canvas for the entire home, adding colour and textures through furniture, accent décor and beautiful natural plants,” say Anchal Jain and Adesh Jain of Crenovate Designers. “We have always been fascinated with the classical English style with its lovely wall and ceiling mouldings and clean minimal colours. We took the same inspiration which can be seen across the home from wall finishes to the ceiling design.”
The civil intervention
This was an existing apartment which was completely re-planned. The kitchen re-location was a major game changer as it was earlier located in the central part of the home and had little space and natural light. “We shifted it and re-oriented it to provide maximum storage and also introduce abundant daylight in the due course,” disclose the designers.

The visual expression
For the living room, a bespoke tropical artwork from Kalakaari Haath occupies pride of place. The room draws the colours from the artwork, and showcases furniture in beautiful tones of soft pinks and accents of green. The dining area, on the other hand, is suffused in soft whites with a backsplash in pastel green handmade subway tiles. The common area majorly follows a classical theme with emphasis on dado moulding and ceiling cornices, PU finishes TV and buffet cabinetry with brass hardware. The foyer also consists of fluted brass louvres for added privacy at the entrance. The master bedroom is a mix of PU and fluted glass-finished wardrobes and teak veneer nightstands and study. The kids private space follows a mix of pale blue PU finishes on the cabinetry with arched mouldings and brass hardware, and a fluted teak-finished back-wall. The study features forest green PU-finished cabinetry, teak-finished side board and hand-painted wallpaper.
