‘Catenary’ is defined as a curve created from a flexible cord settling freely between two stationary points. As a result, the name sets the tone for this home, which has soft curves from ceiling to walls and artefacts in every corner. The space is visually pleasing and has a curvilinear form. The organic touch flawlessly complements the otherwise minimalist aesthetic.

The design brief outlined the key requirements and objectives for the development of a contemporary 4BHK rendered as a stylish, functional, and comfortable living space that reflected modern design sensibilities. The vision was to understand and incorporate the client’s preferences, lifestyle, and functional requirements. “For ease and effectiveness, the client wished to incorporate smart home elements including automatic lighting, temperature management, and audio-visual systems which were further blended in the design,” elucidate Dhruvi Bagrecha and Sanchi Shah whose studios collaborated on this project. “The client’s design objectives were to create a modern design that embraced minimalism, simplicity, and clean lines… while making sure the design endured the test of time.”

A harmonious fusion of current design features, utility, and sustainability was the goal of the idea for this contemporary home. This cutting-edge paradise was planned as a haven for its residents, integrating indoor and outdoor areas seamlessly while putting a focus on energy efficiency and a minimalist style. The design philosophy revolved around the key principles of simplicity and minimalism, and embraced clean lines, open spaces, and minimal clutter to create a sense of tranquillity and visual appeal. Each space within the residence was carefully planned to optimise functionality and cater to the needs of the occupants. Ample storage solutions and multi-purpose areas were incorporated to maximise usability.

A neutral colour palette with soft tones is employed to create a calm and serene ambience, allowing the focus to remain on the architectural features and natural surroundings. The design includes carefully curated artwork and integrates technology seamlessly, such as interactive displays and hidden audio systems, to enhance the living experience.
