Poshaak is a 750-square-foot showroom in a high-end commercial complex in Surat. The narrative is inspired by the feminine form, and features curved surfaces, which further breaks the stereotype of fashion boutiques. “Within the compact area, the objective was to build a canvas with a muted base so as to add all the colours and magic through the fashion designers’ creations,” say architects Sharmen Mehta and Heet Sally of design studio Dot Dimensions, which was entrusted with the responsibility of creating a distinct retail identity. A peach POP goes a long way in precisely that, by establishing a brand presence in a new location.
The entire area houses curvilinear partitions so as never to break the spatial flow of the space and make it a continuous loop for all the customers to have a look at the entire collection of the designer. The form is derived using aluminium box sections, flexible ply and waterproof HDF which is covered with leather finish textured paint.
