The corporate office of La Opala RG in Kolkata designed by A Square Designs highlights the luxurious elegance, innovation and refinement this popular tableware brand is known for. Ajay Arya, principal designer, A Square Designs has created serene environments in the office which are dominated by a rich material and textural play, with opulent accent shades. Luxurious Italian marbles, solid wood wall panelling’s, wooden flooring, exclusive wallpapers, carefully curated artworks and bespoke furniture enhance the spaces. Ample natural light streaming into the interiors adds to the warmth. Further, Ajay has used La Opala products across the interiors to craft creative installation pieces which reinforce the brand’s artistic and aesthetic quality.

The expansive reception area has Italian marble flooring with inlay pattern and a large counter made of gorgeous white Caesar stone. The background wall painted in sage shade comes alive with a decorative piece made of white opal plates. The office comprises five chambers for the five members of the family holding executive posts with the company, each designed to reflect their personalities. The Director’s room is done up with classic solid wood wall panelling and wooden parquet flooring, exuding a dignified air. The MD’s chamber is covered in white Michelangelo flooring and decorated with an artwork by Sanatan Dinda. A stunning peacock wallpaper is the focus of another Director’s cabin where a palette of pastels with tones of burgundy as highlight, evoke a subtly opulent environment. The other two chambers are done up in neutral shades with rich accent colours — one room has a geometric patterned wallpaper with purple accent chairs; while diverse wood tones and blue dominate the other.

The long corridor running through the office is covered in wood panelling, resulting in a linear space, the monotony of which is broken by wall sconces. The large conference room is embellished with contemporary lights and modern art that add dynamic elements to the muted palette of the space. The adjacent display room is an opulent space with beautifully-lit show units and an actual dining setting which display beautiful tableware. The two-toned upholstery of the chairs with floral prints and plane fabric bring much charm to the space.
