Located in Bengaluru, this 1,350-square-foot apartment designed by Thomas Parambil Architects is home to a young couple and their son. The home weaves a design story through arches and a pastel colour palette that runs across the walls in each room. The arches appear throughout the apartment in different materials like wood, mirror, paint and even artworks, making it a design feature that binds the home together. The 3BHK apartment is swathed in pastel hues of millennial pink, textured beige and neutral grey and is minimally decorated.

The layered decor adds warmth to the home, and brings in cosiness that is reflected in the use of light and dark tones, material and texture play. Vases in different shapes and sizes are strategically placed in different nooks of the house — each procured from local artisans, and hand-painted in-house.

In the light-filled living room, the delicate white couch sits on a coarse, grey rug that is placed on the glazed, vitrified tiles. As one moves to the dining area, a pop of blue in the form of dining chairs breaks the monotony. In the master bedroom, swatches of grey, white and sage green hues take over. One of the bedrooms is converted into a study-cum-play area for the son.
