Project Earthy Hues is a 4BHK home designed by Bodhi Design Studio for a family of four. This 3,400-square-foot home is part of a gated community in the outskirts of Bengaluru. The brief for this project was to create a practical, earthy and sustainable house that suits the lifestyle of the small family by drawing inspiration from the lush greenery outside.
The brief was achieved by equitable planning (laterally and vertically), adopting passive cooling techniques, employing unique construction techniques, leveraging the true qualities of materials, and the use of solar energy. Amirah Ahamed, principal architect of Bodhi Design Studio focused on utility and climatology and played with different forms, finishes and styles while creating this house. Internal courtyards, glass balconies, and a private garden keeps all the bedrooms, the living and family rooms, dining, kitchen, utility, pantry and study keeps the family connected with nature.

As for materials, the true finishes of brick and concrete are used in harmony throughout the areas, binding spaces together and rendering a vernacular look to the house. Italian marble, cement tiles, solid finger joint sheets and vitrified tiles was used for flooring in different spaces. The flooring define spaces, and acts as the perfect backdrop for furniture, furnishings and decor accessories.
