Mumbai-based Mould Studio crafts utilitarian furniture with great detail to suit the demands of modern lives. The studio knows their wood well — thanks to an in-house timber unit — and ensure that the best quality and type of wood is used to make the designs of the furniture a piece of art.
Their latest creations include The Utilitarian and The Prodigal Collections which includes a beautiful line-up of cabinets, side tables, a cupboard and a bench. The Blunt Cabinet is designed in solid teak wood and has rounded shutters which give an edge-less look to the furniture. The Acute Teak Cabinet is a mid-century style tall unit with ample storage. Made from solid pine wood, The Pine Cupboard has a fresh light tone. The Lune Teak Side Table and Bare Teak Sofa Table are boldly minimal in design. Made from teak wood, The Nodule Bench has slender proportions and design which makes it easy for the bench to fit into any space it is placed in. Part of The Prodigal Collection The Teak Pods is an admirable piece of art with solid teak wood pods that liven up any corner it is placed in. The Bulb Stand romanticises the materiality of wood. Composed of three components, it explores wood in various ways. The cabinets and cupboard can be tailor-made to a customer’s specifications.
