The project
Vertical Vue is a 2,000 sq ft residential show flat conceived to present a warm, contemporary interpretation of modern urban living. The project translates the developer’s vision into an experiential interior that reflects the actual lifestyle offered within the residences.
The site
Located on Sindhubhavan Extension Road in Shilaj, within a growing residential precinct, the show flat was designed within a standard apartment shell identical to the saleable units. The compact yet well-proportioned layout and good natural light allowed the interiors to closely mirror real residential living conditions.

The brief
The brief called for an aspirational yet relatable show flat that showcases efficient planning, clear zoning, and a warm contemporary aesthetic. The space needed to feel elegant, functional, and welcoming to a broad buyer profile while remaining true to the actual apartment configuration.
The design intent
The design intent was to craft a calm, lived-in environment through subtle textures, neutral tones, and natural materials. Rather than rely on overt luxury, the interiors emphasise understated elegance, comfort, and timeless appeal.

The civil intervention
Civil changes were minimal and limited to integrating built-in furniture, wall panelling, and concealed services. The original apartment configuration was retained to ensure authenticity between the show flat and the actual units.
The spatial flow
The layout flows seamlessly from the entrance and formal drawing area into the family living and dining spaces, creating openness and continuity. Private areas such as the bedroom and wardrobe are positioned to ensure privacy, while a dedicated home office zone provides a functional workspace without disrupting overall coherence.

The material palette
In the drawing room, a neutral-toned sofa sits against a backdrop of fluted Italian marble, layered with a patterned carpet to introduce visual depth. Light-toned sheer curtains filter natural daylight, while natural veneer surfaces bind the space cohesively. The dining area is anchored by upholstered chairs and a contemporary chandelier, with a Shreenathji Pichwai artwork at the temple zone adding a serene cultural layer.
In the living area, neutral upholstered seating pairs with textured wall backdrops and hand-painted frames. Suspended veneer shelves at the TV unit display artefacts, while textured rugs and soft furnishings enhance warmth. The bedroom adopts soft finishes, upholstered headboards, and warm wood accents to create a serene retreat. The wardrobe features custom modular storage with veneer finishes and integrated lighting that emphasises both functionality and organisation.

The highlights
A warm neutral palette enhances natural light throughout the home. Custom furniture and integrated storage solutions ensure practical elegance. Subtle detailing balances aesthetic refinement with real-world usability, while the seamless flow reinforces authentic residential living.
The challenges
Designing a visually impactful show flat within a compact footprint, while remaining true to the actual apartment layout, required careful scale control, budget discipline, and material restraint.

The takeaway
Vertical Vue demonstrates how thoughtful planning and subtle detailing can elevate a standard apartment shell into a compelling, aspirational home—without straying from the realities of everyday living.
