Apartment 801 represents the dream home of a young couple and their two young daughters. When they decided to embark on the journey of creating this repose, they partnered with Neev Design Studio whose design expertise and creativity they trusted implicitly. While the team at the studio had a free hand to create this immersive environment, the family did specify that their home had to mirror their personalities and lifestyle. “We took up the challenge and came up with a design that was both functional and aesthetic, blending modern elements with traditional touches,” says Jayesh Mistry and Jahnavi Mistry, principal designer and principal architect respectively of Neev Design Studio.

The entry starts positively, with the welcoming form of Ganesha. The living room is a cosy and inviting space with a pastel colour scheme that creates a light and airy atmosphere. The focal point of the room is the elemental wall, inspired by SH Raza’s iconic geometrical oeuvre. It is painted in a striking turquoise colour that contrasts with the pastel pink chairs. A plush and comfortable sofa with an attached side table provides convenience. The wooden panelling on the ceiling defines the passage for movement, while the TV unit wall is panelled with teak wood and grey PU colour, with a touch of brass for elegance.

The partition between the dining and living area doubles as a crockery unit and allows for open spaces by keeping a low height. The dining table has been designed in teak wood and topped with Statuario marble, creating a contrast with the wooden chairs. The kitchen has a subtle and warm theme, with teak wood drawers and overhead storage with beige back-painted glass. The dado wall has been clad with Statuario marble, giving a smooth and sleek finish.

The colour scheme of the master bedroom brings together a walnut and teakwood. The suede-covered headboard of the bed extends to the lintel level, creating a grand impression. The bed also has cantilever side tables on both sides, which add a minimalist flair to the room. The console table opposite the bed is the focal point of the room, custom-designed by Neev Design Studio. The wall panelling is done in a way that enhances the classy and minimal vibe of the room. The wardrobe matches the theme of the room, blending in seamlessly with the rest of the decor.

Pink rules the private domain of the two young girls. The central colour is teamed with white and grey for a look that’s feminine but nor stereotypical. The bunk bed has the added convenience of a trundle bed, perfect for sleepovers or playtime. The dressing table is cleverly integrated with the bed frame, extending all the way to the wardrobe. The mirrors on the wall reflect the light and the mood of the room, with their smooth and curved edges. The study table is designed with ample storage space on both sides, so that the two siblings can easily stow away their books and stationery. The ceiling design showcases multiple circles, each containing a light that can be backlit for a magical effect.
The guest bedroom is a haven of simplicity and elegance. The furniture is sleek and airy, creating a sense of spaciousness. The colour scheme is a soothing blend of grey and white, with a touch of warmth from the teak wood veneer. The back wall features a striking groove that reaches the ceiling and is illuminated by a profile light, adding depth and drama to the room.
