This residential space blends pastel tints with simple geometrical shapes

JAD Arch Studio uses maintenance-friendly materials and pops of colours to ensure a design with universal appeal.

SAMASTA is a sample flat designed with a beautiful synthesis of soft colours, simple geometry and serene tropical art. “The essence of this residence comes from the abundance of soft shapes and colours, curved forms and geometric patterns which are highlighted with textures and materials,” says Arpit Jain, principal designer, JAD Arch Studio. “However, since this was a sample flat, we had to balance the budget vis a vis a design with a universal appeal.”

A combination of Italian marble look-alike tiles on the floor, oak veneer and customised metal artwork welcomes you into the public zone comprising the living area, family area and dining area. The living area is highlighted with the use of pastel blue sofa which is further complemented with the use of customised wall art behind the seating. The living room design as a whole gives a very serene tropical effect.

The customised wall art behind the console in the dining area accentuates the dining area as well as the family area. The neutral colours in this open area bring out the pastel blue Duco paint used in the kitchen.

In the guest bedroom and the parents’ bedroom, the rectangular designs have been balanced out by adding some circular elements. The colour palette of neutral colours used in the guest bedroom helps in highlighting the veneer finish headboard.

While a combination of the playful wallpaper and pastel colours of green and pink, defines the kids’ room, grey dyed veneer is used in the master bedroom to bring out the wooden flooring and the beauty of the four-poster bed.
