Designed by The Interior Workshop, Blossom Abode is an apartment project in Surat spread across 4,550 sq ft. The client’s brief required the design team to create an elegantly styled space which rendered a sublime living experience. Comprising of four bedrooms, the apartment also has a family room, a large living room and open dining and kitchen area. “Huge spaces comes with huge challenges,” says Tejas Mistry, principal designer, The Interior Workshop. “One of the most difficult tasks in this project was space planning as the flat was quite large in size for a nuclear family. You don’t want to fill the space with unnecessary elements at the same time as it should not look empty,” he adds.

Stepping into the apartment, one notices a soft blend of veneer with flexible profile lights in the foyer area along with a dramatic console. The living room showcases a dual colour tone on its walls — veneer panelling and a muted textured paint. The plain white ceiling is reserved with a sense of visual continuity that ties the whole space together. An instant eye-catcher here is the large artificial cherry blossom plant encased in a glass box… an absolute delight to the senses. The apartment has an open kitchen which extends into the dining. The partition between the dining and the kitchen creates spatial division and provides privacy and sound insulation. The apartment has a huge balcony that has a stone wall accompanied with greenery and Buddha sculpture. The family room transports the users to another zone with its teal seating and simple yet elegant taupe walls that create an exciting yet calming experience.

Refined and muted, the palette for the master bedroom is deceptively neutral but enhanced with tonal highlights and contrasting texture. The dressing along with the washroom includes laminated and glass (shutters) wardrobes. The theme for daughter’s bedroom revolves around minimal and calming muted hues. The curved fluted bed back panel and textured wall enhances the beauty of the space. A blissful mood slowly dissolves in a serene palette of grey and textured veneer in the son’s bedroom. The guest bedroom stands out for its mustard bed; and the wall art piece over the console adds extra drama into the place. The simple fluted panels balances the overall mood of the bedroom.
