This nail salon and spa depicts a sense of easy flow and minimal style

Style Your Nails, designed by Kaas Design Studio, draws its inspiration from the profile of a nail plate, enveloping the project with seamless monolithic arches in a blaze of raw warm texture. A minimalistic style and a highly detailed execution tie together the design of this 1,500-sq-ft salon.

The journey begins with a striking, unmissable crimson wall which acts as a backdrop for the reception area and conceals the pantry and a treatment room. The foremost interface of reception and waiting, with hints of play in arches, pulls up the visitor’s eye by creating a sense of anticipation towards the ambience.

The space further opens up into an alluring pedicure arena nestled amidst green planter beds, with printed tiles laid on the floor and earthy stone basins. The ceiling is intricately designed in pop to highlight this central space, further accentuated by a dramatic chandelier.

A rhythmic orchestration of arches binds varied functions. Below these, storage spaces are neatly tucked away in a graceful combination of style and pragmatism. “Being a space that focuses on experiences, the design lays utmost attention to crafting details as per the user’s needs,” disclose Kaas Design Studio’s principal architects Komal Patel and Arjun Shah. Crafted in situ, manicure tables are made of removable brass bowls with BTC crafted wooden base. These dual functional tables act as therapeutic aroma bowls when used as side tables.

The uniformity of the raw flooring, walnut wooden skirting, eccentric lighting, metal inserts and diverse colours, make the space timeless. Strong colours alternate dynamically with different materials and textures. The passage leading from the entrance to the nail bar carves in a product display area which seamlessly merges with the wall texture with bold hints of brushed gold along the perimeter of each display shelf. Indirect light highlights the displayed products, making the section a part of transition space.

Closed spaces like the academy room, spa room and powder washroom are designed along the passage, opening on its opposite side. The spa room uses materials monolithically, promoting a calming and relaxation environment. Bespoke hanging paper lamps with indirect cove lighting add to the tranquillity of this space. The project successfully achieves a grand experience and a sense of immersive luxury.
