Open floor plan, clear lines, airy and breathable spaces, minimal approach and subtle colour palette defines this modern house. With the space being open and bathed in natural light all through the day, Priyank Gabani and Mitanshi Gupta, principal designers, Interior Muse, consciously strove towards keeping the design alive and fresh, with an inherent lightness. The breathing pocket at the centre of the space was also expanded by breaking the wall shared with the guest room. This allowed natural light on the other end to pass in, and light up the house evenly and completely from all sides. The addition of a sliding-folding partition makes the room usage multipurpose and allows extra foldable seating space.

The living room stands out due to its serene and contemporary nature. Sober detailed veneer and a gentle touch of contrasting hues in the loose furniture create the perfect shade of warmth. “The TV unit wall in the living area is designed with a precisely embossed, rich white marble which, together with the natural light from the adjacent window, creates a nice effect,” disclose Priyank and Mitanshi. The dining area continues from the living space and is characterised by cheerful tangerine dining chairs.

The bedrooms, on the other hand, are a balance of minimal panelling with deeper lush fabric beds. Pendant lights, abstract artwork, free-standing side tables and minimally designed PU wardrobes add a touch of modernity to the rooms, while the colour combination gives a luxurious character.

“The narrative of the house is constructed on a clean, timeless aesthetic, with maximum functionality,” conclude the designers.
