The site
This sprawling 1,300-sq-ft, 4BHK apartment on the 67th floor of one of Mumbai’s high-rises enjoys uninterrupted views of the city skyline and the sea from all the rooms, with ample sunlight filtering in through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The brief
“Our client is a social media content creator,” say Nikita Dhoble and Meghna Kakar. “It was important that the home would provide an appealing background for her content. Therefore, we created different zones where she could film various kinds of content.” For instance, the multi-purpose room has a home gym where she can shoot-fitness related videos; the dining area provides enough scope to capture content revolving around healthy eating; while the walk-in closet comes in handy to shoot fashion videos. “The clients have a certain lifestyle and were clear about what they wanted in their home,” the designer duo tells us. “We wanted to incorporate all their requirements and help them elevate their experience at home as a well-designed space contributing to the betterment of one’s well-being.”

The design intent
The designers drew inspiration from what was trending in the design field while also ensuring that the narrative possessed a certain timelessness.
The spatial configuration
The house comprises the living/dining area, master bedroom, walk-in closet, guest bedroom and a multi-purpose bedroom. It also has a mandir, a powder bathroom, utility room and a staff room adjoining the house.

The colour palette of the living room with its bespoke L-shaped is neutral, but the vibrant pastel-coloured energises the space. The six-seater dining table features a custom-made marble top and gold metal legs. The console that doubles as a bar/crockery unit is a bespoke piece as well. The master bedroom is warm and cosy, and includes a bespoke lounge chair to enjoy the view of the Bandra Worli Sea Link. The adjacent walk-in closet comprises a modern French-style wardrobe with mirror panels and mouldings, a dresser with quartz knobs and a statement antique white mirror piece along with a custom-made gold metal clothes rack with a built-in mirror. The multi purpose room functions as their home office, home gym and reading room, and has a cushy daybed perfect for lounging. “We had to customise each piece,” state the designers. “That was fun…” The duo also had to keep in mind that the furniture had to be light-weight and portable as the owners would have to move it around.

The material palette
Textured wall paint and artwork join hands to add character to the walls. The material palette mainly features suede, PU paint, mirror, glass and gold metallic accents to render a contemporary feel.
