Magari: Aayutha Collection

Magari, the Bengaluru-based lifestyle brand has added new furniture designs to their Aayutha collection which celebrates the beautiful and geometric forms of the Tamil script. The series consists of furniture for the living, dining, bedroom, study and bar areas; and are handcrafted from solid materials like wood, granite, brass, wood veneers, leather and metal. A striking furniture piece from the collection is an unusual low-seating dining table, crafted from solid granite. The table is accompanied by low-seated Kelir chairs which feature brass studs and discreetly hidden wheels which add that additional touch of comfort and ergonomics to a design so deeply rooted in tradition. The dining set is also available in a more contemporary, high-seating design option to ensure maximum comfort without losing touch with the inspiration behind the collection. Aptly named Suvai, meaning ‘taste’, it comes with a choice of elegant brass or a monolithic stone stand.

The flawlessly handcrafted Kalvi armchair takes inspiration from Kelir, but offers a more ergonomic high-seated, upright design. When you want to lay back and catch up on the log read you’ve been missing out on, look to the Aaram armchair. Paired with the Aaram Ottoman, this comfortable armchair is versatile enough to blend in perfectly whether it be in your living room or study. Then there is the comfortable Aattam rocking chair, handcrafted from solid wood, and inlaid with brass for that touch of luxury. The collection also includes the Kalai console table, Thunai side tables, Arivu study table, Mannai centre table, the Paai portable charpai and the Madhusala Bar Unit.
