The Farns is the latest introduction from German brand Walter Knoll which is available exclusively with Plusch in India. Inspired by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House — the landmark glasshouse built in 1951, near Chicago — The Farns is a striking architectural piece of furniture. Just like the iconic house, this sideboard also plays with light and shade, shape and geometry, wood and glass, creating magic.
Transparent and open on all sides, The Farns is fitted with mirrored panels that make the inside seem endless. It can be used as a luminaire to make a statement within a particular space. Its doors can be opened 180 degrees creating a spatial element with a range of faces for innumerable lighting effects. So, even when you place it against a wall, the mirrored panels turn it into a light board.
The Farns is multipurpose: use it in the living and dining area, as an architectural element in space, as a dresser, credenza, bar furniture, sideboard, highboard and lowboard. And also as a display cabinet, floating shelving, luminaire and media board. It can be freely assembled for using from just one side, from both sides, from the back and from the front — it is a piece of furniture that focuses on open planning and living.
