The new collection designed by Neeta Kumar for her luxury lifestyle brand, Inhabit, pays homage to birds and bees. Titled Let it Bee, the collection comprises a beautiful range of edgy and opulent furniture for the living and dining spaces. Let it Bee is a collection of five reissues that encapsulate the designer’s experiences, detailing the wonders, struggles and triumphs of her encounters with these wonderful winged creatures. Each product is a story created to raise awareness about their plight.
With a philosophy to create a style that is timeless, dramatic and splendid, the collection uses rich tones, age-old materials and finishes. The brass highlights invoke an immediate sense of indulgence and grandeur, while the charcoal black finish sets itself on a path to evoking a classy appeal. The designer wanted to create an eclectic and vibrant mood, hence the use of forest pine green and plush turmeric colours. The statement-making furniture pieces are upholstered in bespoke prints and materials. The use of an artisanal material like woven cane is in line with the brand’s emphasis on sustainability.
